Frequently Asked Questions
What is Mountain Healing Sanctuary?
Mountain Healing Sanctuary is an intimate, evidence-based wellness retreat designed to help you uncover root causes of health concerns and create meaningful, lasting change. Each retreat integrates personalized naturopathic care, clinical insight, and guided education within a deliberately chosen healing environment in the Berkshires — where nature itself becomes part of the therapeutic experience.
How does the environment support healing?
The retreat is set in the quiet, mountainous landscape of Mount Washington, Massachusetts — an environment selected specifically for its ability to support nervous system regulation, stress reduction, and deep restoration.
Fresh clean air, forest surroundings, and the absence of noise and digital distraction help shift the body out of chronic “fight or flight” and into a parasympathetic, restorative state. This physiological shift allows clinical work, reflection, and learning to land more deeply and integrate more effectively.
How is this different from a typical wellness retreat?
Most retreats treat location as a backdrop. Mountain Healing Sanctuary treats place as part of the protocol. The experience is intentionally designed around the interaction of:
One-on-one, root-cause naturopathic clinical care
Thoughtfully paced health education and treatment protocols
A calm, nature-rich environment that supports regulation, repair and reflection
Together, these elements create conditions for insight and change that are difficult to access in everyday life.
How many guests attend each retreat?
Retreats are intentionally limited to one or two guests at a time for clinical care but we can accommodate up to four guests to stay as part of our Family Weekend Retreat. This preserves privacy, minimizes stimulation, and allows both the clinical work and the environment to remain calm, focused, and restorative.
Who leads the retreats?
Retreats are led by a licensed naturopathic doctor experienced in root-cause medicine and functional lab interpretation. You’ll receive dedicated, one-on-one guidance throughout your stay, supported by an environment designed to enhance clarity, learning, and integration.
What types of health goals do the retreats support?
Retreats are customized and may support:
Chronic stress, burnout, and nervous system dysregulation
Hormonal balance and metabolic health
Gut health and inflammation
Mental clarity, mood, and emotional resilience
Preventive care and long-term vitality
The combination of clinical insight and environmental restoration allows both physical and mental patterns to shift more effectively.

Meals may be added as an optional add-on; otherwise, a fully equipped kitchen is available for your use. All potential costs are communicated transparently prior to booking.
What is the cancellation policy?
Because retreats are intentionally limited and reserved exclusively for you, we ask for at least two week’s notice if you need to cancel or reschedule; cancellations made within one to two weeks may be applied as a credit toward a future Mountain Healing Sanctuary retreat, while cancellations made with less than one week’s notice are non-refundable and cannot be transferred. This allows us to preserve the integrity of the experience while offering flexibility whenever possible. Outright cancellations outside of two weeks with a full refund are fine.
